As a tourist, the Duden Waterfalls in Antalya make a pleasant trip from the Liberty Hotels Lara and its surrounding gardens are a popular picnic spot with locals. The Duden river extends from the Taurus mountains all the way to the Mediterranean and creates two cascades know as the Upper and Lower Duden Waterfalls.

Upper or inner Duden waterfall(Inland); 15m (49ft) in height and 20m (65ft) wide and once set in a pleasant rural landscape. Today, the rapid expansion of Antalya City has meant the upper or iner Düden waterfalls have almost been engulfed by high rise developments. A natural cave has formed behind the falls and it is possible to sit here and watch the cascades. There are restaurants, boardwalks and picnic tables in the gardens immediately surrounding the falls to help you make the most of this scenic spot.

How to get to the Upper Düden Waterfalls by using the Antalya Municipality public transport system.

From the main road infront of the Liberty Hotels Lara and wait for the LC07. Get off at Terra City Shopping Centre.
Wait for the VML 55 A (Varsak Aktarma-Düden Şelalesi-Habibler-Sütçüler-Yeni Hal- Zeytinköy-Meydan-Burhanettin Onat Caddesi-Metin Kasapoğlu Caddesi-Dedeman-Terracity-AVM-Muratpaşa Belediyesi-Barınaklar Bulvarı-Güzeloba-Aydın Sokak-Ermenek Mahallesi) and get off at Düden Şelalesi(waterfall) as indicated in blue. Please ask the bus driver to tell you when you have arrived at Düden Şelalesi.
The journey time from Liberty Hotels Lara on the LC07 to Terra City is approx – 20-25 mins.
The journey time from Terra City on the VML 55 A to Düden Şelalesi is approx – 40 mins to 1 hour.

Lower Duden waterfall (Karpuzkaldıran Şelale), flow over the cliffs into the sea and are considered to be the highest in Europe. Karpuzkaldıran waterfalls were considered to be less impressive from a nature aspect than the Upper Duden falls, however in recent years the area around the falls has been developed into a delightful, tastefully landscaped park and it has been aptly named Düden Park. During the summer it is possible to hire one of the many tourist boats at a reasonable cost from Antalya harbour in order to view them at close quarters. The Lower Duden Waterfalls are 14km (8.5mi) northeast of Antalya.

How to get to Lower Düden Waterfalls by using the Antalya Municipality public transport system – From the main road infront of the Liberty Hotels Lara, take the LC07 and get off at Düden Park. Cross the main road and walk either through Düden Park or along the Düden river approx 600 metres to the Tour operators car park. Walk through the car park and the newly laid paths taking you to the edge of the waterfall or the paths along the cliffs where you can take spectacular photographs at the vantage point where there is a telescope.
